Watch Resources, Inc. is a multi-faceted non-profit organization in Sonora, California, founded in 1972 by a group of parents and teachers who knew that adults with intellectual disabilities needed support to live productive and happy lives as integral members of their community. Watch Resources, Inc. will celebrate 50 years of service in 2022 and has grown to now support 180 people who live in Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Mariposa Counties.
Watch Resources, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3, charitable organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors with an annual budget over $3,000,000 and a staff of fifty-seven dedicated professionals.

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the leader of Watch Resources, Inc and is its primary public representative. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and works in partnership with them to ensure that the organization fulfills its mission and creates strategies for future sustainability and success. The ED is responsible for the programmatic and fiscal integrity of the organization in keeping with the direction, policies and objectives set forth by the Board of Directors.
Leadership: Serves as a decisive, credible leader for Watch Resources, Inc. who attracts and retains top-notch, diverse talent. Maintains a work environment that fosters employee empowerment and commitment to the organization’s mission and purpose. Supports an open and healthy culture of collaboration, diversity, and mutual respect.
Board Relations: Fosters solid relationships and supports the Board in their role for the organization. Keeps the Board fully informed and engaged regarding the status and activities of the organization. Keeps the board informed of legislation and research concerning individuals with intellectual disabilities and their needs.
Strategic Planning: Works with the Board to design and implement a plan to set strategic direction, long-term goals, and annual objectives.
Partnerships: Establishes and maintains working relationships with public and private agencies, as well as other appropriate professionals.
Financial Viability: Establishes and maintains funding sources, both public and private. Writes and submits grant proposals. Prepares and maintains annual budget as approved by the board. Maintains and grows a sustainable fundraising program based on the Benevon Model.
Operations: Ensures the team operates with excellence and continues to deliver high quality services that meet the needs of its consumers and the community.
Advocacy: Navigates a complex local and state political environment and supports policies that have the most significant impact on Watch Resources, Inc. and its service area.
Community Relations: Interfaces and establishes strong relationships with many constituencies at the local, state, and national level including the health and social service community, policymakers, community leadership, funders, and the public.
Communication: Serves as the primary spokesperson for the organization and effectively articulates the vision, mission, and outcomes.
