Job Description

Manages and oversees the day-to-day residential services of students with intellectual disabilities living in on- and off-campus student housing, as well as manages and oversees the summer LIFE Experience program.

-Manages operations of the Residential, Extended Services, and LIFE Experience programs
Supervises residential staff including hiring, training, evaluating, counseling, and terminating; schedules staff, maintains records, and submits time sheets
-Supervises and ensures AmeriCorps ILMs complete requirements and complete documentation of services for the AmeriCorps Director
-Ensures services are rendered according to person- and goal-oriented framework, and conducts weekly independent living trainings for residents.
-Creates system for goal progress tracking for each resident
-Assists staff in developing or finding creative training / support techniques for residents receiving services
-Performs continuous evaluation of residential programs and operations for effectiveness and best practices
-Supervises residents receiving services to ensure their health, sanitation, safety, comfort, medical needs, behavioral needs and protection of individual rights are met.  Levels of supervision are dictated by the needs of the residents and policies of each distinct program setting
-Actively investigates opportunities and implements strategies for OCT students to further increase their participation and integration into the UNF community (this includes opportunities for socialization with other UNF students and participation in on-campus recreational activities)
-Substitutes for and / or assists staff as needed to ensure quality training and care for residents
-Ensures all program policies, rules, and procedures are followed
-Ensures all Extended Services contracts, if any, are fully implemented for each resident; also ensures contracts are up-to-date including all emergency contact information;
-Ensures all billing information regarding services rendered for residents participating in -Extended Services is sent to Arc’s accounting department
-Conducts weekly apartment checks as needed to ensure maintenance issues are addressed and corrected; ensures apartments are fully furnished, all appliances are in working condition, and apartments are cleaned and decorated after each semester
-Acts as a liaison for the Director, Arc’s accounting department, and Frassati Newman Hall regarding lease agreements, number of leases, lease rates negotiations, number of leases based on the needs of the upcoming OCT academic year, maintenance issues, and student resident issues; ensures apartments are maintained according to lease agreements
-Maintains effective partnership to ensure optimal residential experience for the student
-Updates / meets with families / guardian on any behavioral issue or discipline matters
-Ensures residential staff collaborates with residents to participate in community and campus events
-Investigates community resources and organizations to design and implement innovative partnerships and services
-Communicates with parents / families / guardians regarding questions, updates, and concerns, as well as provides recommendations for further resident progress
-Manages the planning and overall operations of the LIFE Experience Program; supervises LIFE -Experience staff including hiring, training, evaluation, counseling, and terminating; schedules staff, maintains records, and submits time sheets
-Reviews and accepts LIFE Experience applicants
-Maintains residential emergency cell phone throughout the evening, night and weekend; manages emergency situations regarding residents and / or staff
-Updates residential manuals, handbooks, and forms, as needed
-Participates in OCT Steering Committee meetings and other meetings / workgroups as directed
-Attends / presents / engages in a variety of planned city, area, and national conferences as requested in order to promote and inform others of the philosophy and practices of the residential programs
-Maintains required residential information in AWARDS
-Engages in cross training of all program positions to ensure effective ability to assume roles and / or complete tasks as needed
-Becomes an Arc-approved vehicle driver, and ensures all vehicle policies and procedures are followed
-Attends organization-wide all-staff in-service days
-Completes other duties as assigned
