Job Description

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the strategic direction of The Arc Baltimore and to assist in translating the organizations strategic plan into action. This key role is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy specifically in the areas of talent management and acquisition, change management, organizational and performance management, succession planning and compensation.  The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the Chief Executive Officer, the senior management team and the board of directors.

The CHRO develops, recommends and implements approved Human Resources policies and programs for the organization. The major areas may include organizational planning, talent acquisition, employment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, and employee services (i.e. benefits administration, payroll, leaves of absences, and workers’ compensation). Recommend changes in and advises the Chief Executive Officer of personnel policies and procedures. Assures Human Resources initiatives are appropriately aligned with The Arc Baltimore’s mission, business strategies and objectives.
