Job Description

Prepare most of the month end closing journal entries.Prepare and distribute monthly Budget versus Actual reports to Program Directors. Continually monitor FUNDEZ trial balance to ensure that all income statement accounts are properly allocated. should be able to locate accounting errors and suggest corrective actions. Reconcile all bank accounts monthly and prepare necessary journal entries. Learn all functions within Accounting Department (e.g., Medicaid billing and Payroll)to act as backup when necessary. Reconcile and manage monthly debt/mortgage payments and related interest; maintain excel spreadsheets that tie to the general ledge and perform all corresponding journal entries. Maintain the Fixed Assets and related depreciation spreadsheets monthly. Oversee the Payroll Specialist in the monthly reconciliation of all medical, dental and vision deductions for each employee by program and match to the actual invoices; review journal entries distributing costs to the proper programs. work closed with the Entitles Specialists and Associate Executive Director to ensure that all Social Security payments received are properly recorded. Track personal allowance and prepare rent invoices to consumers as necessary. Reconcile the monthly social Security Rep Payee bank account. Represent the Accounting Department/On Your Mark, Inc. professionally at internal and external committees and meetings, along with the CFO and DTO. Assist CFO and DTO in gathering information requested by various external auditors. Assist DTO and eventually assume responsibility for preparation of the annual CFR Report to NYS. Attend all necessary training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. A minimum of two years experience is preferred. Should have excellent computer skills including Excel and Work (and FUNDEZ a plus).
