Job Description

General Responsibilities: The Behavior Analyst is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Melmark New England Behavior Intervention Strategies: Policies and Procedures. This role will act as a Senior Clinician for a small caseload of students.  Will be responsible for functional assessment, behavior support development, crisis management, and training of personnel and program implementation oversight for these students. This role will require active programming oversight in both the school and residential setting for the student caseload, thereby requiring weekly presence in the residences and classroom settings. The Behavior Analyst will ensure that all clinical standards of excellence are acquired and maintained by management staff and direct personnel via the implementation of the staff feedback system.

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Training: Minimum of Master’s Degree in ABA or Special Education; Doctoral degree in Psychology, Special Education or ABA preferred.

Certifications/Licensure: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.  A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.  Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status.  Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.  Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, and Melmark’s Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program.

Skill(s): Strong background in applied behavior analysis, clinical application of applied behavior analysis with individuals with acquired brain injury, intellectual/developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.  Strong experience working with individuals with significant challenging behaviors.  Experience with research design and methods. Experience with design and implementation of functional analysis.

Experience: Minimum of two years or more in clinical service delivery and supervision within public or approved private school settings and in implementing evidence-based procedures for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and challenging behaviors.  Minimum of two years or more in program management, supervising and training staff, skills in human resources, budget management and running residential, educational or clinical systems.

Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all members of the multidisciplinary team (Nursing Services, Vocational Services, Clinical Services, Residential Staff, and Allied Health Services) to ensure that each student’s educational and clinical requirements are met.

Starting Salary: $80,000 and upwards based on related years of experience.
