Job Description

L.A. GOAL, a non-profit organization in Culver City, CA, is seeking a qualified visionary leader to be their Executive Director.

WHO WE ARE: L.A. GOAL has been part of the Los Angeles community for over 50 years, and is a long-standing recipient of GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency.  We partner with adults with developmental disabilities (our “Members”) and their support networks to assist them in increasing their independence and employability in order to live more fulfilling lives.   Our goal is to create more opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to thrive across all aspects of life, have meaningful relationships, and feel a sense of belonging within society. We continuously strive to understand our Members’ needs, how they evolve over time, and how they are affected by shifting societal dynamics and inequities. We help the public see beyond ability or disability to honor the core being of our Members and ourselves.

Our comprehensive, evidence-based programs include individualized support in all aspects of our Members’ lives: work, health, relationships, creative expression, and fun, so they are free to express and share more of themselves.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

●      A minimum of 5 years progressively more responsible management experience in a social service program, with a track record of operational excellence.

●      Knowledge and experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities/Intellectual Disabilities, and its unique challenges.

●      Demonstrated leadership, knowledge, and skills to lead a non-profit organization chartered under California state law.

●      Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles and methods of organization, management, and financial management including budget development.

●      Experience interfacing with an active and involved Board of Directors and its committees.

●      A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, with a preferred major in Public Administration, Health, Human Services, or related area.

Starting salary of $90,000 (negotiable DOE) and competitive benefits package will be offered to attract an outstanding candidate.
