The Behavior Specialist (BS) is responsible for developing Behavioral Support Plans (BSP) for specific individuals as identified by the senior director. The Behavior Specialist will assess an individual and develop a complete plan, which outlines support strategies to address specific target behaviors as identified in the assessment process. The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for training the direct support staff, and the identified program manager on all aspects of the Behavioral Support Plan. The Behavior Specialist will also be responsible for providing ongoing consultation and assistance to the support team for the purpose of updating the plan in response to the changing behavioral needs of the person served.
The Behavior Specialist must have a Bachelors Degree in a related human services field and have one year of experience in the development of Behavioral Support Plans for people with developmental disabilities. A commitment to serving individuals with severely challenging behaviors in the community setting is essential.
