Direct Support Professional with Experience in Media and Influencer Marketing
About the Role:
As a Direct Support Professional your primary mission is to work closely with a client hired by Popcorn for the People (popcornforthepeople.com) who is employed as a Media and Marketing Assistant. The job entails providing one-on-one guidance and assistance in completing marketing tasks. This includes introducing the client to appropriate workplace behavior, ensuring breaks to enhance learning and work tasks, promoting peer interactions and understanding during team meetings.
We are looking for an individual with a genuine passion for working with the autistic and disabled community, as well as experience in social media and marketing practices particularly in social media, content creation, filming and photography. While this role may start as one-on-one support, it has the potential to expand to work with other clients within the Popcorn for the People organization as opportunities emerge.
This is a part time position, located in Hoboken NJ, M-F 12-4. The hourly rate is 25 dollars per hour. This position is funded through the NJ DDD Community Care and Supports Program and requires background checks, completion of online training, CPR classes and other screenings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training and Support:
● Work one-on-one to provide support in various marketing tasks.
● Cultivate a patient and supportive approach to effectively lead and guide the client through marketing assignments.
● Ensure clear communication to facilitate understanding and task completion.
2. Marketing Tasks:
● Oversee and actively ensure client participate in email marketing, social media management, photography, content creation, and marketing schedules.
● Collaborate with a client to create engaging and relevant content for our marketing channels.
● Help set individual goals and meet marketing goals, including improving brand visibility and engagement.
3. Passion for Neurodiversity:
● Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with individuals from the autistic and disabled community.
● Create an environment that encourages growth, learning, and inclusion.
● Promote teamwork, cooperation, and respect among with all team members.
4. Experience and Knowledge:
● Understanding and experience in working with neurodiverse individuals
Possess knowledge of social media and marketing practices.
● Previous experience in marketing roles or formal education in marketing is preferred.
● Stay informed about the latest marketing trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
● A strong passion for working with the autistic and disabled community.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.
● Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing strategies.
● Experience or education in marketing, with a preference for those who have worked in marketing roles.
● Adaptability and a willingness to engage in one-on-one training and support.
● Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to develop engaging marketing
content.
● Photography skills are a plus.
