The Bridge Program at the College of Mount Saint Vincent provides opportunities for young adults with various learning abilities to grow their skills related to academic, professional, technical, independent living and socialization in an immersive college environment. The role of the Administrative Assistant is to organize, coordinate, schedule and perform office functions for the department and coordinate communications between administrators, faculty, parents, students, state agencies and the general public. The Administrative Assistant will serve as the family liaison. Reporting to the Director for the Bridge Program, this is a part-time, 10-month position.
Organize, coordinate, schedule and perform a wide variety of clerical and other office functions and activities related to the administration of the Bridge program.
Provide administrative assistance to the program administrators; make, schedule and arrange appointments, meetings and conferences.
Independently compose letters, memoranda and bulletins as directed.
Organize budget and financial material to maintain accurate fiscal records.
Oversee state billing and invoices for the program in coordination with the Office of the Bursar.
Serve as the initial point of contact and reference source for staff, students, parents, state agencies and the general public.
Respond to inquiries from students, parents, partners or colleagues as appropriate; route calls to appropriate personnel as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience in a post-secondary or other education setting preferred.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families
Knowledge of Outlook, MS Office Suite, Banner and college billing processes
Sensitivity to student concerns and a positive attitude
Knowledge of OPWDD Self-Direction highly preferred.
