Executive Director, Center for Disabilities-UCEDD & LEND, Sanford School of Medicine, University of South Dakota, Sioux Falls, SD
Seeking an Executive Director for the Center for Disabilities at the University of South Dakota. The Center is a division of the Department of Pediatrics in the Sanford Medical School located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Center for Disabilities is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) and a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) site.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Education, Rehabilitation, Psychology or other related field with a proven record of leadership and organizational accomplishments. The candidate will have previous experience with UCEDDs and a proven record of advocacy for persons with disabilities. A record of research, publications, presentations, and grantsmanship is also required. The selected candidate will be experienced in planning and implementing the strategic direction of the Center and obtaining funding to meet the Center’s goals.
Previous leadership experience as an executive or assistant/associate director with a UCEDD is preferred. The Center is actively involved in partnerships with Native American communities and the ideal candidate will have knowledge and involvement with diverse populations.
This position is grant funded and continuation is dependent on available funding and performance.

As the only LEND program in South Dakota for more than 25 years, we don’t just develop good clinicians – we develop leaders who can prompt change in the organizations with which they work. The South Dakota Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program provides a graduate-level traineeship and one year of interdisciplinary training.
