Job Description

Cape Abilities, Inc. seeks a Development Officer, a newly-created, full-time, position responsible for successfully coordinating, implementing and completing this $2.5 million capital campaign. As a key member of the Development Department, the Development Officer will work closely and collaboratively with the Capital Campaign Committee, the President & CEO, Director of Development, Board of Directors, and appropriate Cape Abilities staff to develop and successfully implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy and plan to accomplish the goals of the Changing Lives… Growing Futures Capital Campaign.

Requirements; Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of professional experience in fundraising with a track record of success.  Familiar with non-profit setting and experience managing capital campaigns. Direct development experience including solicitation skills and experience in scheduling and staffing solicitation calls and conducting follow up and stewardship.  Demonstrated success in managing complex projects.  Ability to work independently and cooperatively and excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, capable of working effectively with board members, staff members, volunteers, and donor/prospects.
