Job Description

The Occupational & Life Skills (OLS) at Bellevue College is an accredited associate degree program for adults with learning disabilities. In our uniquely supportive program, students learn to identify and develop a career pathway, gain marketable, workplace-readiness skills, and complete an internship with a local business. Most students are gainfully employed within three months after graduation. OLS students grow interpersonal skills and take steps toward greater independence. The confidence they gain at OLS, both onsite and in the community, help students self-advocate and mature so they can become productive community members. They build life-long friendships, and gain marketable, workplace-ready skills.

In this vibrant community, the Internship Program Manager will apply their expert workforce knowledge creating partnerships with local businesses as providers of internships for OLS students. Within the robust framework of the ART of OLS, this position will work with interns directly in the workplace and in the classroom. Data driven decision making will be key when providing strategic direction and facilitating individual and the program advancement. The current number of interns each year ranges from 16-21 students with supervision of 1-2 part-time internship coaches. Student empowerment and self-determination are both key for student success. Most interns will become independent during their internship and may receive an employment offer. This position will report to the Associate Dean and be part of the OLS leadership team. This position will include Bellevue College leadership responsibilities. It is a great opportunity to join a team of individuals working towards the same goals and outcomes and its approaches are unique to employment and the workforce.
