The premier provider of adult day services is seeking an experienced and dynamic Activities Manager for our Kidd Center location in Cincinnati. The Activities Manager will lead the activities and members experiences at Kidd Center through community integration and in house activities. The Activities Manager will also provide a balance of planned, purposeful activities to meet our members needs and interests (social, intellectual, cultural, economic, physical and spiritual).
The Activity Manager will need to deliver on our brand promise with a high customer service orientation, lead with enthusiasm and build strong relationships with our members and our surrounding community. A person with the ability to multitask, problem solve and has a strong background providing activity teams with coaching and mentoring will be a great fit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Performs ongoing tasks required to plan, implement, document, and conduct activities program.
Conducts activities and implements, tracks programming under general supervision of Center Director.
Coordinates activities with other services at the center and with other staff.
Interacts with the community to increase community awareness of adult day program. Such involvement is secondary to the daily programming in the center program, staff schedule and responsibilities.
Coordinates with staffs of local schools or higher education and other education and other education resources to meet the educational needs of the participants and to utilize available instructors for music, crafts, community integration.
Plans, schedules and organizes monthly activities for calendar and newsletters
Participates actively in team conferences; contributes information on the observed needs and behaviors of participants; interacts with other team members and implements recommendations to meet the needs of participants.
Listens attentively to participants, staff, volunteers, and others to gain an accurate understanding of their needs and courteously communicates instructions, assignments and other information appropriately.
Evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of individual and group activities and revises activity programming accordingly.
Actively participates in the quality assurance programs.
Performs initial activities assessments and follow-up assessments as directed by the Center Director.
High school diploma/GED
Experience working with Adults with developmental disabilities.
One to three years full-time, supervised, paid work experience related to developing and implementing activity programming and/or a bachelor degree in activities planning and coordination, or a degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.
Valid driver’s license and meets Agency’s insurability requirements.
